Maggie Sottero Vanessa for Charlotte Key

Maggie Sottero make the most amazing dresses. They also make some questionable dresses but it is always wise to remember they are an international brand that meet the demands of a worldwide audience.

The demands of Miss Bush are that the dresses are beautifully made, delicately adorned, elegant with some darn fine corsettry that keep strapless dresses perfectly upright. They are, in the spectrum of weddings, relatively easy on the pocket yet look priceless.

The Vanessa dress fulfills all these criteria and then Charlotte’s graceful demeanor brings it to life. Soft fluid fabric billows romatically and a vintage toned neutral sash shows off Charlotte’s neat waist.

Charlotte was helped by senior Miss Bush stylist Corinne and fitted by Senior Bush – the legend that is Gen!! A lovely note from Charlotte

“Hello all!

As promised here are a few more pics… feel free to put them on the website, it will be the closest I will get to being famous!! I also wanted to say thank you all for your help in the whole wedding dress process… I absolutely loved the whole experience of trying on the dresses and then finally getting to wear it for real!  Special thanks to Corrine and Jenny.

Thanks again.

Congratulations to Miss Bush house model Esther

The briefest post to say ‘congratulations’ to the lovely  Esther – currently on a gap year, part time model and complete genius – she just got her place at Oxford. We are thrilled for you xxx

Jenny Packham Marie Louise at The Talbot Ripley

I absolutely love the selection of photos that Jackie has sent me. I love the transition from the nervous, over the shoulder glance to the exuberant swish on the dance floor.

I feel a certain shallow pride that Jackie’s friends had dress envy too. There is no doubt in my mind that images of Jenny Packham wedding dresses will fill future coffee table books defining early 21st Century style. Jenny Packham has a signature look that evolves season to season giving each bride a chance to wear an iconic gown that has all her hallmarks from the pewter aged beading to the dramatic necklines yet retaining the individuality that stops them becoming generic and samey. I am a devoted fan.

Some lovely words from Jackie about Gina – who has been with me years yet is inexplicably only 21 and the lovely Senior Bush – my Mother Gen.

“Hi,
As promised to Jen here are some photos of me marrying the handsome Darren, whist wearing the gorgeous Jenny Packham ‘Marie Louise!
I had a wonderful experience in your beautiful boutique and the lovely Gina made choosing and buying the dress a piece of cake. Big thanks to super cool Jen, who bigged me up so much in my dress that I  do not know how my head squeezed through the door on the way out! Jen was fabulous and was so relaxed that I immediately felt at ease and I honestly didn’t think twice about readiness or quality of work.
We Married and partied at The Talbot and our photography was by Sean Casey Photography. My friends and family had dress envy sooooooo bad and I didn’t want to take it off.
Much Love

The Emerald City, High Street, Ripley

More time has elapsed than I would have liked from my last properly written blog post. I have multifarious good and bad reasons, or excuses, why this is so. Suffice to say, in my day dreams, I would love to loll gracefully in cashmere lounge-wear crafting wry observations on bridal style punctuated by witty asides on my glamorous, yet hectic, lifestyle.

I would be happy for you to picture me as the model below…

I will smell like this…

I shall be sipping this…

If you could see inside me mind it would look like this…

It is not lost on me that the last two pictures also segue well into the colour predictions for 2013 so I would like you to know I am on the ball too…

There you have it. I am a picture of self-assured style and I radiate health, which, for the purposes of blog writing, is sufficient for the moment. 2012 was, to paraphrase HRH, something of an annus horribilis for some very near and dear people. Whilst there was lots of patriotic, nationalist fervour on the world stage & simply gorgeous brides at Miss Bush I haven’t felt perky enough to write. Now, with a bulging inbox and the of  a zeal of WordPress convert, I aim to bring some of the most wonderful women on the planet, my brides, their photographers (although some are men – but fall into honourably women category) and suppliers, to the blog once more for the celebration of their collective genius.

With a slightly torturous allegory I will finish on a picture of the main man Oscar Diggs of Nebraska. (Pub quiz answer fact fans.)

A showman that accidentally sales into Oz is put in charge of a leaderless land and sustains his myth and mystery behind a facade of magnificent on-trend Emerald. He is the wizard.

To quote the rather marvellous Mary Portas

“Retail theatre when done well is surprising, challenging, uplifting, energising even mesmerising…
… A place I feel so happy to be
that it’s a given I’ll buy something”

So it is with luxury retail. Suspension of disbelief, smoke & mirrors and the support of amazing people sustain our service, our soul and keep the emeralds shining.

I would like to thank all our brides of 2012 – I am coming after your photos. To the brides of 2013 – fingers crossed for a sunnier year where only style reigns.
