Jenny Packham Aspen in silver for Sammi

How much do I love Sammi’s strong, individual look? It’s incredible. Sammi is so petite and beautiful with the most fantastic ink elevated to the level of art. Hair was by Miss Bush favourite Elbie Van Eeden . I couldn’t wait to share a couple of snaps from a friend – proper photos on the way! New Maggie Sottero 2014 Collection

There is a an air of mystery surrounding the launch of new season dresses. Security, image protection and the steely glare of the PR police protect the new designs from rip-off copy companies. All well and good – but in the age of social media it is not very easy to keep the perimeter fence protected.

One of my favourite labels Maggie Sottero adopts a strict ‘no photos’ policy. I understand the reasons but I have found catwalk images of dresses I have ordered & I am going to share them.

To add to the excitement I am going to be able share some of these dresses with you on the 5th May at our 2014 Unveiled event. Click here to reserve your place.

AND – one of the greatest facts is none of these cost more than £1500!!!!!

New York Bridal Market

Wedding geek or style obsessive? Either description would suit me perfectly. Therefore the first thing I did when I opened my eyes this morning was to trawl through social media feeds to find images from the New York runways from some of the big names.

First up Vera Wang. Surprises were few & far between. The safe but stylish monochrome palette has become her trade mark. I actually love this contrast look but the cutting of this collection is far from revolutionary & verges on clunky.

Marchesa stuck to their signature ruffles & frou. Pretty, but the look doesn’t cross the Atlantic well. Us Brits are a little afraid of excess which means whilst they look fab on a catwalk they would be condemned in store for being meringues.

My little style surprise came from a label called Theia. I will hold my hands up and say I had never heard of the brand. But a good-looking male designer, some preppy neat dresses and plenty of blush turned my head.theia2 theia3 theia3b theia4 theia7 theia-last

2014 Unveiled

UNVEILED 2 (2)I know you probably haven’t been to the eight weddings you have in the diary this year. I know you’re probably thinking about venues & dates rather than dresses & details but it is never too early to start booking key suppliers & services. Frankly it is never to early to be self-indulgent…

Miss Bush & Nest Home & Cafe are hosting a 2014 preview wedding event on Sunday 5th May. Like a ‘wedding fayre’ but way, way cooler! All my favourite collaborators – my beauty heroes, my favourite venue & photographers will be in store dispensing wisdom and inspiration.

Bring the other half? We’ll be giving away beer tokens and Sunday papers in The Ship next door to Miss Bush. (Oh & we’re showing menswear)

Bring your bridesmaids – the Little Miss Bush team will be showing brand new season dresses.

Bring your Mum – we have Occasion Wear to show you, flowers to inspire & cakes to taste!

I am bound to say the dress is the star, I may be biased. I will be showing brand new dresses from Suzanne Neville, JLM Couture, Maggie Sottero & Jesus Peiro. Be the first to see them…
