It’s easy to think of Miss Bush as simply being me, Mum, a yellow square, a Chapel and some damn fine frocks. As soon as Corinne’s wedding weekend was announced there was an outpouring of love for our adopted daughter & extra grandchild.

A raft of Miss Bush brides less vocal on social media came forth to attest to Corinne’s patience, kindness and understanding, she  being described as ‘wonderful, ‘ a superstar,’  ‘amazing’ and ‘fabulous.’

Given the opportunity to do a best man takedown on Corinne I would have added that her special qualities include having the interrogation skills somewhere close to a stalker taking confession. Within moments of meeting anyone Corinne has compiled a mental dossier that a seasoned MI5 agent would be proud of.

If I was picking Corinne to be on my pub quiz team her specialist subjects would be Box Sets, Reality TV and The Complete Works of The Mail Online. Corinne’s ability to trick Excel into adding up a column of numbers wrong defies logic, her fear of spiders legendary, and her love of a good cleaning session infamous.  Creative spelling and a colourful rearrangement of the world’s major land masses meant that Corinne’s academic career was brief but the win was for Miss Bush & our brides.

Empathy, boundless patience, sheer hard work, good humour and an ability to put even the most reluctant brides at ease has meant for thirteen years Corinne has been dressing and undressing some of the country’s most stylish brides.

As I disappeared down the rabbit hole of social media bringing back fantastical artistic creatures to Miss Bush’s projects Corinne has helped to create Manhattan in a car park, warriors in stately homes, thrown blankets round Britain’s Next Top Model & turned The Chapel into any number of photo ready backdrops.

Corinne has stood between Gen & I throwing insults, bailed the Chapel from a biblical flood, endured the slings and arrows of not only working for a glass-ceilinged family business but has been witness to the outrageous fortunes of retail bridal.

Corinne earned every moment of her picture perfect day;  every searing hot or freezing cold shoot with Juliet, the first encounter with Ashleigh at the epic Dunsborough shoot, the bridesmaids  launch with Carolanne dragging Gayle along and Sharon showing up for the first ever Fetcham shoot Corinne has aided and abetted the artisans of the wedding world. Lauren, the wedding planner was the result of a proverbial “snowball’s chance in hell” of me answering an email that wasn’t immediately urgent.

Dressed by Suzanne, fitted by Liz, Corinne has put in the hours at the Neville designer days working alongside the great lady herself. Corinne has enjoyed the glasses of fizz at the collections launches that previewed her very own dress and has, figuratively speaking, hand-patted and hair-stroked nervous brides in Liz’s fittings.

My daughter Georgia sang some numbers, my brother crunches some numbers and Rosie, Sharon’s daughter, has added to our number and finally those pesky Excel sheets do as they are told.

Corinne is family oriented; whether to her own or Richard’s family or to the extended Family Bush. Occasionally, and to our eternal shame, we, like any other family members, take her loyalty for granted. I also forget she is no longer the escort-driving, pink-loving, Michael Kors poster girl that refused to exercise on the grounds it was bad for her.

Corinne has grown into one of the most knowledgeable wedding professionals in the business; upgraded to a Mulberry, runs & spins, got herself the most wonderful husband, stands her ground and whose vision of floral beauty, with a nod to her much missed Nan, created an epic love filled day.

To Corinne and Rich and the start of your new life and family, all our love Team Bush xxx
