Fenella and Edward’s relaxed rustic Hampshire wedding took place in June this year, in the beautiful village of Mary St Bourne; the perfect picturesque backdrop for a fun, summer wedding and Fenella’s stunning custom Jesus Peiro wedding dress.

THE DRESS

Fenella tells us all about finding her perfect dress;

“I went for a custom Jesus Peiro. However, it was based on the 7033. We opted for a belt, different seams on the top and bottom and the most incredible fabric… people didn’t stop touching the dress all day saying how unusual and beautiful it was.”

“My finding the one was a little complicated… I originally went for a Suzanne Neville custom dress, when my mum and sister were with me at the designer day. I thought I was in love with it, but knew I needed to lose weight for me to feel comfortable in it. I think in hindsight I was busy thinking about what other people would like and not what I wanted. After a few weeks mulling it over I realised I had made a mistake. I rushed back in to see Emma with my sister. I tried on the Suzanne Neville one mocked up and didn’t feel elated. I swapped into the polar opposite dress, the 7033 and my sister and I looked at each other and just knew we had to change it. A quick phone call to my mum with us both gushing about how we loved it and she was sold too!”

“My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was how bespoke it was! I had been to a lot of shops. And I mean a LOT. I had booking after booking. Local boutiques, London designers, you name it I had been. When I walked into the chapel and was greeted by, quite frankly the most sassy woman I now know, Emma – I knew I was in good hands.

Nothing was too much of an ask. Her eye for detail and design is second to none. She is a complete perfectionist and I fully trusted her. Emma’s relationship with all the designers means things you thought were never possible suddenly are. Between myself, Emma and Jesus Peiro a dress was designed with zero hassle or stress – a small miracle… She even let me in when I called 2 days before the wedding for a last minute alteration – if that is not great service, I do not know what is.”

“I was unbelievably lucky to be surprised by both my Dad and Ed with jewellery as a present for the wedding day. Ed bought me some breathtaking pearl and diamond earrings. I had spotted them in the window of a jeweller on Walton St whilst up in London, a few months prior but thought nothing of it. But Ed managed to blow me away, by not only remembering which exact ones, but tracking them back down and giving them to me.

My dad bought me a stunning pearl bracelet. It was perfect. I hadn’t planned to wear any jewellery as I hadn’t deemed anything I owned nice enough and wanted an elegant and simple style. The bracelet finished the look perfectly and meant so much to me. Safe to say I now own 2 incredibly beautiful and sentimental pieces of jewellery!”

ABOUT THE DAY

Fenella and Edward’s day was a relaxed rustic wedding day with tons of beautiful florals and personal details. Fenella tells us more;

“I just wanted it to be a really fun and social day. I wanted everyone to feel relaxed and have a good time – no pressure on anyone! I loved a whole array of styles, so literally just did individual bits from styles such as rustic luxe and English country garden.”

“There were so many highlights – and parts that I hadn’t even thought about were amazing. I would have to pick 3 …

The ceremony -the whole thing, from start to finish, was far more emotional than I could have ever dreamed. It all meant so much and the readings were beautiful.

When we were called into dinner and our guests were cheering, whistling and clapping. We both felt so loved and supported. The atmosphere was immense.”

“And finally, late in the evening, probably about 2 songs from the last, some friends lifted Ed and I up onto their shoulders, we looked around and every single guest was on the dance floor singing at the tops of their lungs, jumping up and down. I thought to myself we have done it and look at the people here to celebrate – this really is an incredible wedding.”

FINAL WORDS

Some words of wedding wisdom from our bride, Fenella;

“Go for a dress you love and do not think about what other people will think. You can’t second guess that. I think where I went wrong the first time was I was trying to please other people. It will always show if you don’t feel comfortable. As Roald Dahl says .. If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely. I think that is relevant to feeling happy and confident in what you wear and then it will radiate throughout the day.

On the day what will be will be. It is too late to worry about anything. I had the most chilled, fun day of my life and absolutely nothing could have stressed me.”
