We’re off to the beautiful blustery Scottish coastline today, for Fiona and Kieran’s romantic wedding in Crear. Fiona wore style 7029 by Jesus Peiro, a long sleeved wedding dress in thick luxurious crepe with detailed metallic shoulder embellishments and a striking statement lace panelled back; the perfect choice for the stunning setting and their relaxed, personal day.

THE DRESS

Fiona tells us more about her dress;

“I choose a Jesus Peiro dress. Before going to Miss Bush I hadn’t looked at any of the dresses from the designer.

I bought my mum and sister to both my days at Miss Bush. I started early and went shopping 1 year before my wedding. I had a long list of things I didn’t want in a dress (once again my ‘ungirlyness’).”

“My mum and sister where just as shocked as me that I found “the one” as quickly as I did! Mum was the typical mum and got teary eyed. I think there was a sense of relief as we thought we would be at it for months.”

“Emma was brilliant at being able to get what vibe I was going for. By just telling here everything I didn’t want and the few things that I did want dress number 3 was the one. She encouraged me to experiment and go out my comfort zone which felt really relaxed and reassuring that she was just as invested in me finding “the one” as me. Being given the time to get comfortable in each style was invaluable, Emma would talk me though how it would fit, move and look in the outdoor ceremony that I had planned, her experience and knowledge is mind blowing.”

“Due to the embellishment I had on my dress I wanted to keep my look as simple as possible, Emma helped me choose a long veil which didn’t distract from my dress.”

ABOUT THE DAY

Fiona and Keiran’s wedding was a simple, elegant occasion; celebrating the stunning Scottish scenery, their relationship and the coming together of their two families.

“I wanted something really simple, I’m not a girly girl and wanted something to reflect this. I had one demand for my wedding day that I wouldn’t get married anywhere but Scotland and I wanted it to be outside so Kieran’s family could see just how breath taking Scotland is. Once I found my amazing venue, I didn’t want anything to over shadow the view! I kept everything plain, white and crisp not only did I want people to enjoy the landscape but I didn’t want to distract from the whole point of the day, Kieran and I. Once I found my dress, thanks to the amazing Emma, I bought in gold touches that complemented my dress.”

“My favourite moment was after we had got married – all our families congregated outside and all admired the view, to watch this from afar at how our two families were together for the first time but to see that they had feel in love with our venue as much as we had!

And just because I couldn’t pick one, our ceremony was so personal to us! Since we had a humanist celebrant we were able to say whatever we wanted. We had a traditional Scottish Handfasting ceremony which meant everything to me, to be able to welcome Kieran into a Scottish family and for me to be welcomed into his.”

FINAL WORDS

Some dress shopping advice from our bride, Fiona;

“Make sure you do what you want and what you are comfortable in. It can be tempting to choose something that get the best reaction and not the dress that makes you feel your best.”
