Miss Bush Bridalwear – The Chapel from JHWF Media on Vimeo.

Ashleigh, from John Harris Wedding Film, is becoming as fundamental to a Miss Bush event as big hair and sparkles. I am always so involved, so distracted that I never see her. I, famously, loathe having my photo taken. I gurn. I close my eyes. A lot. I pull my chin/s back against my neck. As my delightful Twitter Troll pointed out to me – ‘what do I think I look like?’. Well, Dearest Troll, I look like a plump 47 year with a whiff of mutton and a range of over-developed self-esteem issues not flattered by the still image. However, whilst no more svelte, ( the camera adds 3 stone right?) I look more like me on film. I gesticulate, joke and hug. I have a glass in my hand and I work the room. This is my purpose.

I love this little three and a half minute snippet. It reduces 7 weeks of manual labour and twenty years of experience into one bitesize morsel. Much like a successful wedding, the fizz of the party belies the work and that  it precisely as it should be.

Look out for Helen Pollington & Laurie Smith’s very first foray into designing a capsule collection for Miss Bush. Spot the wedding VIPs and the wonderful, committed Team Bush women. Those on the payroll and those that might as well be. The film brings a new angle to the event, the back-of-house, behind the scenes build up to Kalm Kitchen’s theatrical canapes & cocktails.

Enjoy the spectacle and get yourself on the guest list for the next party 😉
