We’re off to sunny Spain today, as we take in the beautiful scenery and rustic, natural Mediterranean styling of Baz and Hayley’s fun and relaxed wedding day, which took place at the Villa Bermeja in Casares, last August.

THE DRESS

Hayley wore Yolan Cris Boldo, a light and floaty folk inspired wedding gown, with v-neckline and open back, made from layers of exquisite Chantilly lace; the perfect dress choice for her relaxed and rustic Spanish wedding to Baz.

Hayley tells us all about finding her gown at Miss Bush;

“My mum and one of my bridesmaids were with me when I found the dress. My mum cried and my bridesmaid who is usually the ‘pull yourself together’ sort of person was so emotional. I just had to look at their faces and I knew it was the one.”

“My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was just being in such a beautiful place, surrounded by some many beautiful designs. I felt like such a princess and there was never any rush. Everything just seemed so tailored to me and want I wanted out of the experience. Like you guys knew who I was and what I wanted even when I didn’t!”

“The lace on the dress was quite intricate so less was more when it came to accessorises. I didn’t want a veil as it seemed to churchy and formal for our ceremony, plus it was just going to make me even more hot! I chose to have flowers in the back of my hair and my mum and dad got me some beautiful diamond earrings and a diamond necklace that just set the whole look off. I also wore flat Kurt Gieger sandals as the isle was grass and I didn’t want stilettos getting stuck as I walked down the isle, plus I like to dance a lot, so I wanted to be able to wear comfortable shoes that I could throw some shapes in!”

ABOUT THE DAY

Hayley tells us about the inspiration behind their rustic Spanish wedding day;

“I just wanted something informal, a place where people could relax and chill and enjoy the beautiful location. I’m a hippie at heart so I loved lots of flowers and rustic lanterns. There wasn’t really a certain style as for me the inspiration was the stunning surroundings, you don’t need to dress up a place that beautiful! I did make a note to say that I wasn’t bothered about what people wanted to wear, it could have been up to 35degrees that day, so I just wanted people to be comfortable and not overheat!!”

“It’s almost impossible to choose my favourite moment from the day!! Obviously the getting married part was pretty amazing but walking back down the aisle as man and wife and seeing all my favourite people in the world standing and clapping so happy in our happiness was a feeling I’ll never forget.”

FINAL WORDS

Some final words of advice from our bride, Hayley;

“There will be ups and downs, you’ll worry about costs, what other people are going to think, have you made the right decisions, is the weather going to be ok??? In the end when you see it all setting up and your vision coming together, you’ll think ‘why was I stressed, why did I worry’ because on that day and in that moment it all becomes totally worth it. So, when you feel like it’s all getting to much, take a step back, take a deep breath (have a glass of wine!) and just remember it will all come together in the end and whatever happens, you’ll still get to marry the man of your dreams.”
