The Jesus Peiro Heritage Collections marked the cool Catalan label’s 30th Birthday and showed their unique blend of innovation and tradition. Jesus Peiro, under the design guidance of Merche Segurra has developed strong signature looks that have a huge fan base among Miss Bush brides.

For the breath-taking catwalk show an edit of dresses, accessorised with Chanel inspired black ribbons, showed trend highlights for 2019.

Bows

The statement bow is a Jesus Peiro signature feature. The design DNA of the label calls for sharp lines softened with a strong accent that moves from a painterly squiggle to an Audrey Hepburn style neat.

Statement Shoulders

My first reason to buy Jesus Peiro 12 years ago was their commitment to silhouettes other than 00’s strapless A Line. Ruffles and flutters sit alongside the classic boat necks for the bride that loves their minimalism with a flourish of the new romantic. If you love Cos or ASOS White on the High Street or Isabel Marant or Simone Rocha at high end you will adore this look.

Sharp Lines, soft fabrics

Brides that are choosing to have a laid back luxe feel to their wedding style but feel that some of the beachy excesses of boho might not work for them will have a wealth of choice in the Heritage Collection. Neat fitted bodices give way to light as air fluid fabrics, lightweight chiffons & crepes will take a bride from ceremony to sundowners with ease.

Textured Fabrics

Spotty, dotty, sculptured and textured weaves peppered the collection. When a million of your friends have already got married in lace where do you go if sharp taffeta is too tailored? The sports luxe feel of the graphic weaves or botanical patterned weaves give amazing alternatives to the usual lace or plain choices.

New Lace Trends

Embroidered sheer fabrics, haberdashery touches and graphic stripes within the lace invigorate the timeless bridal cloth. Slices of guipure lace emphasise waistlines. Eyelash edgings bat their lashes from the edge of delicate sleeves. The tiniest shimmer of mother of pearl adorned sheer lace and all of us with an addiction to this bridal staple can fall in love with it again.

High waist cummerbunds

Already in the 07/08 collections, Jesus Peiro’s genius structured high waistband delivers the ultimate vintage Dior outline. The ballgown dress has been radically overhauled and modernised with this feature. It lengthens legs and defines the waist and bust. Merche has moved it into some of the slim and soft dresses too and I know Miss Bush brides will adore the new interpretations of this favourite feature.

Separates for 2019

The act of wearing separates still feels like a small act of rebellion however bridal the look. Separates in the Heritage collection have evolved using the high waist skirt silhouette with boxy cropped tops to give the impression of a tiny waist with the ability to eat ALL the cake! As ever the tops can be mixed and matched giving endless permutations and the possibility for every Miss Bush bride to have their own unique dress.
