Good afternoon! We’re sharing another lovely winter wedding with you today, featuring the beautiful ‘Lady’ by Suzanne Neville, an A-line dress with a fitted bodice and scoop neckline in ivory Zibelene, featuring a nipped in waist and beautiful covered buttons to fasten at the back

Holly & Hal were married at St Martin’s Church, East Horsley and celebrated afterwards at Woodlands Park Hotel, Cobham.

The Dress

After searching for a while and with a few contenders to choose from already, Holly made her way to Miss Bush. After trying on a few that didn’t really suit Emma selected some dresses for Holly to try on.

“The first dress Emma put me in was Suzanne Neville’s ‘Lady’ and I fell in love with it immediately. It was a total surprise because I thought I had wanted something with more detail or even some sparkle, but I felt so classy in ‘Lady’. I loved the neckline and even more so the bustle and gorgeous train. It was a very easy decision to make – when you know, you know!

I brought my mum, aunt and sister to that appointment and it was clear to them too. We all squealed and laughed when Emma popped a veil in my hair!”

Holly accessorised her look with a striking detailed headpiece and Jesus Peiro shrug to combat the cold.

“Because the dress I chose was so simple and classic, I decided to have a large head piece which sat low on my forehead. I had simple court shoes and my sister’s veil which had a ribbon edge. I also needed something to keep me warm and Emma suggested a Jesus Peiro cashmere shrug which was lovely and soft, and complemented the neckline of the dress without bulking me up.”

About the day

Holly and Hal were married in December, and added some beautiful, subtle festive touches to their day, which despite the cold looked full of happiness and warmth! The weather obliged and provided them with stunning, sparkling snow to add an extra dose of magic to their day!

“I’ve always loved Christmas and thought it would be great fun to have a Christmas themed wedding. It felt like a relatively easy theme to incorporate too, and all our suppliers knew exactly what we wanted and had lots of suggestions to make!

Our colour theme was mainly green with little hints of gold, I had holly in my bouquet, we sang O Come All Ye Faithful at the ceremony and the choir sang O Holy Night whilst we signed the register. We gave away homemade mince pies as favours, served winter pimms to guests on their arrival and had bunches of mistletoe dotted about! Woodlands Park Hotel looks absolutely amazing at Christmas too, they have a huge 20ft tree in the reception area which was great and perfect for a few photos!”

“The church ceremony was absolutely magical. It was a beautiful sunny and frosty day, and the sun shone through the stained glass windows and made some of our golden decorations sparkle. It was so special walking down the aisle towards Hal and felt almost surreal saying our vows. We couldn’t stop beaming at each other!”

Final words

“Plan for your wedding as if it’s the week before, because things will pop up that you hadn’t expected and you don’t want to feel stressed in the days before!”
