Our wedding today is a fine example of some of Surrey’s very best suppliers coming together to create a truly wonderful and memorable wedding day. Miss Bush bride Laura wore Suzanne Neville ‘Monet’ to marry Aidan at Loseley Park in September last year, and we’re delighted to share the stunning images from Sarah Legge Photography with you today, along with a beautiful video by Ash Videography.

THE DRESS

Suzanne Neville Monet is a striking ballgown style wedding dress, with an elegant off the shoulder neckline and romantic full skirt.

Laura tells us more about finding her wedding dress at Miss Bush;

“Mum came with me to the Suzanne Neville designer day. It was the most perfect day, trying on all of those beautiful dresses, but I already knew I wanted the Monet! I felt so beautiful in the dress, even with it being held together with elastic bands and my bum hanging out!”

“The Miss Bush team are excellent and getting you into the dresses, so you can see how fabulous they are. Everyone agreed that this was the dress, however my little sister was living in Australia, and I couldn’t confirm the order until she had given her blessing! A few months later we had another appointment in the Chapel when Robyn was home, and Emma took us through a perfect selection of dresses to show Robyn how we had come to decide that the Monet was the one, and when she finally saw me she joined Team Monet! I’m sure she would have cried when she saw me in it, had I not tripped when I came out and ruined the moment!”

“My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was the team; Emma, Corrine and Rosie!!

The girls have been so amazing every time that I have been into the chapel. Emma was honest, funny and wonderful. Her eye for shapes and fabrics and what will look best on you was second to none. She made me feel fabulous and when I left the Chapel I honestly thought I could take on the world!

I have always felt special and welcome at the Chapel, the whole team have gone out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly. They became my sounding board when I was having problems, and offered their knowledgeable advice at every appointment! They truly are a fabulous team of strong and empowering women.

I felt like a princess in my dress, it was everything that I ever imagined it would be.”

To complement the elegance of the dress, Laura kept her look simple, with clean lines and subtle touches, opting for a two tiered satin edged veil and her hair in a loose, natural bun. For her shoes, Laura chose champagne lace Jimmy Choos, and she completed her look with some white gold pink sapphire earrings borrowed from her God Mother, and a pink morganite necklace gifted to her by her husband-to-be on the morning of the wedding.

ABOUT THE DAY

Laura reminisces about the most special parts of their day and tells us more about the inspiration behind it;

“I have been dreaming about my wedding for years, but when it came to deciding how i wanted my day to look it was very overwhelming at beginning! I decided to start with mood boards, and just include images that I liked of all different styles and colour ways and then I took a step back and looked for any common themes. The images were mainly of blush pinks,soft golds and a feeling of elegant romance….so this is what we went with!”

“We wanted the day to feel personal so added lots of little bits in, such as personalised lip balms in the rescue packs in the toilets, flip flops, blankets, and my favourite…fans with illustrations of the wedding party! I learnt calligrapy for the wedding, and loved designing my invites, stationary and creating my perspex hanging table plan.

One of my favourite comments from a guest about the day was; ‘I feel like you have invited us over for dinner at your house…a very very beautiful house'”

“The whole day was totally perfect and the more I think about the day, different parts become my favourite!

I really loved the anticipation of walking down the aisle to see Aidan and then saying our vows! The twenty minutes that we had in the car on our own on the journey the venue, just to discuss our mornings, the fact I was functioning on three hours sleep, the excitement of being married….what he thought of the dress!!”

“Looking around the room during the speeches to see the smiling faces of all our lovely family and friends in one room was very special.”

FINAL WORDS

Laura shares some words of wisdom for new brides-to-be on wedding dress shopping and planning in general;

“Be open to new ideas for the wedding dress, trust that the ladies know what they are doing, and enjoy trying on something you hadn’t thought about…you’ll probably love it!”

“Enjoy planning the wedding, and trust in your instincts. Once you have decided, stop worrying about it and move on to the next thing.

On the day enjoy all the moments, and take a second to look around at all the smiling faces of the people that you love in one room, it probably won’t happen again.”
