Our wedding today is a beautiful, summery garden wedding with a colourful, rustic feel. The event took place at the family home of our bride, Natalie, who married her sweetheart Matthew in September last year in the field amongst the apple trees.

The Dress

Natalie wore  Sassi Holford Georgia, a beautiful wedding dress with sweetheart neckline, patterned full skirt and pretty sweetheart neckline.

Natalie tells us more about finding her dress;

“After the first appointment, I liked 3 dresses but couldn’t quite decide, so I went home and gave myself a week to contemplate. The lovely Georgia at the shop was so right – she said there will be one dress that i think about the most throughout the week and it was so true!

I came back the next week with my mum and mother in law (to-be) and tried them all on again. When i put on the dress i couldn’t take the big grin off my face. The mums…they loved it – lots of smiles.

My favourite part was trying on all the dresses!! I felt like a princess, such a fun experience. The shop is also gorgeous and the staff are the nicest people. So reassuring and seemed to have my style all figured out before i even tried on a dress! Thank you so much Miss Bush – especially Laurie and Georgia :)”

“The original dress comes with a sash and a BIG bow on the back, it was the only bit i wasn’t too sure on. Luckily it was an added extra to the dress so i decided to not get it and instead the lovely Laurie hand made me a custom sash for the dress. My veil was my something old and borrowed, 35 years old and worn by my mother on her wedding day – it was a gorgeous liberty silk with the odd little hole in it but i loved it :)”

About the day

Natalie and Matthew’s wedding took place in late Summer last year, with the rustic teepee and country location playing a big part in the inspiration for their day.

Natalie says;

“I wanted a relaxed, country feel with lots of vibrant colours. I wanted everyone to just enjoy the day; the sunflowers (my favourites) were gorgeous and we decorated the tents ourselves to put our spin on things. We had teepee tents which were amazing, they really made the day. My father in law made us the most incredible bar and we made Gin pastels for favours with our family gin – Mew’s Gin – which were so fun to make and deliciously boozy!”

“I think if i had to choose a favourite moment it would be the amazing food and our first dance. We chose Coldplay ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’ and we had everyone wearing xylobands so when the song started everyones bands were flashing it was magical! I loved just dancing around in my dress! We were all on the dance floor all night!”

Final Words

Some wedding planning advice from our bride Natalie;

“Relax! Don’t sweat the small stuff, it poured with rain on our wedding day but that didn’t stop everyone huddling under the mini teepees and having a great time!

I had such a wonderful time choosing my dress, i wanted something that reflected me and was fun. The unique pattern on the skirt drew me in instantly and i wish i could wear it all the time! x”
