We’re so happy to share Nicola and Luke’s Gate Street Barn Surrey wedding with you today, which took place last June with bride Nicola wearing Jesus Peiro 6005 lace wedding dress for their glorious rustic Summer day.

The Dress

Jesus Peiro 6005 is a beautiful fishtail wedding dress covered in the most stunning delicate lace, with a flattering off-the shoulder neckline and a long, romantic train.

Nicola tells us more about how she found her dress;

“My mum and sister came with me to pick my dress. I put tags on a lot of different dresses to try but I knew I wanted a vintage lace dress. My sister actually picked the dress I went for. They both loved every dress but the second I walked out in the Jesus Peiro dress they both cried and I knew from their faces that the dress was the one. I felt amazing in it and it just felt like it was meant for me.”

“Everything about Miss Bush is so lovely and has such a wonderful atmosphere. You just feel amazing as soon as you walk in and you are made to feel special. I loved trying different styles and dresses. Every dress felt amazing!”

“My mum gave me her veil from her wedding 32 years ago. I loved it and knew I wanted to wear it on the day. I took it with me for my dress fitting and brought a clip to sew it on to which they did for me at Miss Bush.”

“I wore vintage looking embellished shoes by Jenny Packham No1. I had some beautiful pearl and diamond earrings from my 30th birthday that I wore. Luke sent me a gorgeous pearl and silver necklace on the wedding morning that matched perfectly.”

About the Day

Nicola and Luke’s wedding was beautiful, naturally pretty day, with subtle neutral colour palette, lovely country garden inspired florals and lots of rustic textures that made the perfect fit for the exposed wood and relaxed atmosphere at Gate Street Barn.

Nicola tells us more;

“I love anything vintage and rustic. I adore light,  pastel colours and didn’t want anything too bright. I knew from the beginning how I wanted the day and Luke was happy for me to take charge (even though he did ask for a Batman themed wedding!!) I didn’t want anything to look too structured. I wanted everything to look and feel relaxed. I did get a surprise batman cake made for the day, just so Luke had something he wanted. He was very happy and surprised.”

“I loved getting ready with my mum and bridesmaids. We had so much fun and everything went to plan. I was very nervous driving to the church but as soon as we pulled up outside I had a rush of excitement and just couldn’t wait to get in there. I loved seeing the venue all decorated for the first time and walking in to see all our families and friends.”

“We were so lucky to have lovely weather for most of the day, however there was a 20 minute downpour as we pulled up to the venue. This was my worst fear, however it turned it to my favourite part of the day. The caterers passed a bottle of prosecco through the window and Luke and I got to have some time alone to talk about the ceremony and reflect on the fact that we had just married. It was perfect.”

Final Words

Some words of wedding planning wisdom from our bride Nicola;

“When it comes to finding your dress go with your heart. Try everything! Even if it’s not what you think you would like. Make the most of it and enjoy trying the dresses on. When it’s the one, you will know.”

“Enjoy every second of wedding planning, you will miss it once it’s over. Try and remember that the day is about you two. You can’t please everybody so do what you want for you. Try to take a minute to sit back and take it all in.”
