Sometimes on buying trips  I behave like a professional buyer. Will this or that dress give dress give me a return on my investment? Does the dress have the key seasonal & style features that our brides know & love? Then there are times when I see a collection & just squeal with excitement over a particular dress. Sam’s dress ‘Cosette’ was such a dress. It has elements I adore – black lace appliqued over vintage toned tulle. The classic Dior New Look high wasp waist. On the hanger its a bit Marmite; on a bride it’s magical.

It was a brave step for Sam to choose this dress, although many brides have now followed her lead. It is head turning and different yet classically styled and immensely flattering. It is not an obvious choice but an inspired choice.

On blogs weddings are separated, categorised, labelled. Vintage, alternative, luxury, inked, geek, festival… a useful shorthand perhaps? Or another way of reducing  individuality to an SEO tool. Sam’s wedding, her dress, her handsome groom & ushers in their impeccable Stephan Bishop suits; all the details are beautiful with a twist.

Again watching a wedding film I welled up, virtually sobbing by the end. If budget allows, brides, I would seriously consider having one. Many thanks to Sam & Alex for sharing this film with us ( or was that Donna 😉 ) & all our love and best wishes.
