From Saturday the 5th April Miss Bush Bridalwear will be charging for Saturday appointments.

The reasons for this are many & varied but across wedding shop world my peers & colleagues with similar businesses are all experiencing high volumes of ‘showrooming’. This is a  polite way of describing huge volumes of women through the door that have no intention of buying anything from any designer bridal boutique.

This can include overseas brides wanting to experiencing shopping with their UK friends & family. Brides who have set a budget much lower than our dresses. Brides looking for inspiration to take to their dressmakers. Brides or bridesmaids that have arrange a convenient meeting point for far-flung members of the bridal party. Add to this the un-engaged Muriel’s Wedding women and (though I blush to admit it) people who have been told that they “must have an appointment with Emma” & most Saturdays have a significant proportion of girls-day-out parties.

I am hoping that a £35 charge will discourage brides from going ‘everywhere’ and choose their shops wisely. Please feel free to grill us on our products and services before booking. I also hope that this will keep the shop calm & relaxed.

It also means that if you really do just want my advice without a dress you can have it for what is a very small outlay.

The need to know facts are;

  • First appointments will be £35 payable in advance by BACS . This is then free from charges for both yourselves and Miss Bush & negates the need to hold your credit card details.
  • This can be refunded if the appointment is cancelled with more than 48 hours notice, i.e before 9am on the Thursday preceding the appointment.
  • There will be no refunds with less than 48 hours notice, or no-shows on the day.
  • On arrival at Miss Bush you will receive a receipt & gift voucher for £35 that you can spend  or use as part payment towards any product.
  • A subsequent revisit appointment to order a dress will be free of charge.
  • Further styling appointments with the team after ordering your dress will remain free of charge.
  • Out of hours, private or VIP appointments will become £100 with a £50 receipt and gift voucher presented on arrival.
  • Weekday shop appointments remain free of charge.

With the introduction of MB Lifestyle, Miss Bush’s new gifts, styling & homeware range spending £35 has never been easier or prettier. Even if you don’t find ‘The One’ with us you can treat yourself or your friends & family to a beautiful wedding day addition.  See our full offer here.
