I realise that the Met Ball is all about rag trade power players, Anna Wintour’s fash-facism and the New York social barometer. Nevertheless who didn’t trawl the internet at dawn to find the photos to cast judgement on the red  carpet looks?

I was slightly horrified at the amount of black zombie eye make up – usually I would be a fan but on most A listers it crossed the line to fancy dress face painting. I also loathe on most occasions cut out midriff baring dresses. Probably because I couldn’t wear it. Also because it still looks slutty on the most groomed & perfect person.

There was much to love. Long sleeves should be a girls best friend – (especially at my age) and are great for a wedding dress, much less need to over kill the tricep dips. Also I love the addition of some cheeky studs into the usual red carpet blood diamond blood bath. The new Natasha Jane collection of headpieces can help you work this into a bridal look effortlessly.

Lets’s start with the haute honeys…

The haute horrors. Check out the slasher frocks, the clumsy, clumpy eye make up with the comforting thought that even with the best stylists you can have a bad day
