Sometimes there aren’t enough superlatives in the world. Sometimes when I do an appointment with a bride to be I think to myself ” how does someone look this good in their pants?” I marvel, as we all do when faced with perfect proportions, that some girls look like Charlotte without the aid of Photoshop and an Instagram filter. Add to the mix the perfect silk lace of Suzanne Neville’s Baroque, the Jenny Packham Acacia in gold and the backdrop of Leeds Castle & we have a contender for Miss Bush pin-up of the year.
Clearly you also need to know she also as lovely and intelligent as she is beautiful & wore Louboutins – now excuse me while I go and wail in a corner…
Amongst all the gorgeousness of the early spring blossom look for the bridesmaids dresses. They are, beyond doubt, one of our favourite styles in store. Noir by Lazaro is one of the bridesmaids brands from the JLM Couture group. The style they are wearing is 3286 in navy (link) and is just so well cut and show stopping in its own right – they even have trains.
How apt is a dress named Baroque set in this baronial splendour? How seasonal is the coverage? How perfect is the warm clotted cream colour of the crochet-like lace? How much does the high bateau neckline & illusion back act as a counterpoint for the body con silhouette? Charlotte’s look is quintessentially British & timeless, it could illustrate a ‘How to dress for a wedding’ handbook. It is at once classic yet contemporary, simple but head turning.
Sam, the groom, clearly knows is he blessed. Does he, though, know his new wife is something of a bridal fashion icon? I suspect many men, and I hear it in the shop often, have little or no opinion on dresses. Friends and family reinforce the brides choice by saying ‘he’ll love whatever you wear.’ The tougher crowd to impress is the girls & we are wowed!
