Suzanne neville

Suzanne Neville, for the last few years, has shown her collection deep within the heart of The Tower of London. The residents of the Tower, be they Beefeaters, Ravens, Crown Jewels or the  Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, have histories and legends that define Britishness. It is not difficult to extend that definition to Suzanne & her place within British wedding dress design.

Like jewels the dresses emerge glittering & bewitching. Like the Tower itself the dresses are sometimes strong, imposing and timeless. Like landmarks, you realise they offer tradition, stability, permanence. Reassurance that ‘there’ll always be an England’ and always a Suzanne Neville bride

The collection offers the 2015 bride revisions of classic styles with impeccable fit & fabulous fluid fabrics. The gloss of Suzanne’s ever-growing star status, red carpet presence & celebrity clients can be found in the sleek premiere-ready slipper satin & crepe gowns.

The all important sexy back was a design feature in many dresses. ( The combination of free-flowing champagne & my dodgy iPad photos may well not show this – apologies – it’s a tough job but someone has to do it!) Illusion sleeves, front & back necklines in sheer tulle allowed appliqued lace & beading to float magically on the models. Perfect black tie wedding dresses for the fearless.

And then there is ‘my’ dress. Each season when I look at the collections I wonder what I might wear should the question be popped. This is not only a favourite dress but what I actually ‘could’ wear. Be gone wisps of chiffon & a requirement to go bra-less. What I need is some serious cutting, impeccable couture mixed up with a fresh take on a classic style. So, ‘ta-dah,’ should The Lovely Marshy get down on one knee ( insert arthritic joint jokes at will) the sumptuous black over nude corsetted gem will be mine. Possibly with a more fishtail skirt. After I have lost 2 stone… I never said I wouldn’t be a diva
