We’re very pleased to share Clodagh and Dan’s elegant London wedding with you on the blog today! Clodagh wore Suzanne Neville Cherish for their wedding, which took place in September last year.

The Dress

Suzanne Neville Cherish is an ivory silk chiffon gown with pleated bodice, lace capped sleeves and back with a beautiful a-line skirt. It was the second of three dresses that Clodagh tried on it and it was perfect; the dress she’d always dreamed of!

Clodagh says;

“I took my mum and bridesmaid to get their OK and they both loved it. Mum cried, of course, and it was a lovely and emotional experience.”

“My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was the warmth, discretion and fun that came from Corinne and Emma, and the calm nature of Laurie. Having a couture made to measure dress was such a luxurious experience – I felt so privileged.”

As she was brought up in Belgium, Clodagh accessorised her look with a cathedral length veil made from the most beautiful Belgian lace, plus hand made gold and pearl earrings and  a gold and dark sapphire necklace that her Father had made for her.

We love that Clodagh kept her look so simple; the exquisite lace veil was the perfect match for the Suzanne Neville dress and the elegant sapphire necklace was the perfect finishing touch for the sweetheart neckline.

About the Day

Clodagh and Dan’s wedding ceremony took place at Chelsea Old Church followed by a beautifully styled reception at The Chainstore in Trinity Buoy Wharf.

Clodagh says;

“We wanted a wedding in our home, London, surrounded by friends and family. We didn’t really have a theme, we just wanted the day to be relaxed, happy and full of love. We had so many people travelling for our wedding that we wanted everyone to feel included, taken care of and together.”

“There are so many moments that took our breath away:
After saying our vows and signing the register we walked out of the church to a choir singing’ Only You’ (yazoo) and the entire church erupted with cheers and clapping. We felt elated.”

“We then walked to Cadogan Pier to catch the Thames clipper we had hired and we walked hand in hand, alone, along the river. it was our time to take in everything and felt very special.”

“The emotion of the speeches – they were funny but so emotional and heartwarming. I fell in love with both Dan and my Dad all over again listening to their words.”

“Our Ceilidh! we had an amazing band called Fiddle Paradiddle that went down a treat with everyone. To see 150 people dancing, laughing and holding hands felt amazing. Seeing our venue transformed by the florists and caterers. Our vision finally had come together!”

Final Words

Some final words of wisdom from our bride, Clodagh;

“I am a great believer of trusting your instinct and not doing things by committee! Choose the dress that makes you look like the best, most beautiful and confident version of you and if you want a second opinion ask some trusted people who know you well. The same can be said for planning the wedding. From the beginning we knew exactly what we didn’t want, so it was easy to work out what we did want and we both were aligned in our thinking!

Focus on the things that are important to you both and don’t worry about the other stuff. Try not to get caught up too much in the planning, the most important thing is saying your vows- the rest is bonus.”
