going to the chapel copy

Over the last month I have been hinting, sneak peeking & alluding to Miss Bush’s premises move. It is but one short week away & I am facing the move, as with any major life change, with huge excitement and a deal of trepidation.

I know the space is going to beautiful, I know our dresses, MB Lifestyle products, our two exclusive brands are perfect and our team remains the same. Yet, like waking up disorientated in hotel bed not your own, I haven’t see it living & breathing bridal wear.

In many ways Miss Bush is an old-fashioned family company. Family run with staff that stay with us for a long time. Like any family it provides a bedrock of security with integrity & love. This sometimes comes at the price of a few expletive-heavy arguments but the passion & commitment is unwavering.

Over the last couple of seasons with the increasing traffic & referrals to the shop via social media Miss Bush has shifted its perspective on how we reach and communicate with brides to be, how we stay in touch with married clients and how it is very clear, with instant feedback, when we get something right or wrong.

I have listened to what the market wants from on a practical level. Greater choice in appointment times, quieter, private appointments. From my point of view I know it is better for me to see fewer brides to be but ones that I can be of most use to. My expertise, & that of my team, may not be needed by every bride.

Brides may not want to hear our opinions; they may not share our taste. The tales are legion across the internet of brides with disappointing shopping experiences. The aim of Miss Bush in The Chapel is for the experience of your visit, the dresses, the environment & customer service to be fun, frank & luxurious.

Brides have more access than ever to encyclopaedic amounts of images of wedding gowns. The Chapel will not house hundreds of dresses. It is, perhaps, not the place to ‘try everything’ to see what suits. It will remain a meringue free zone (unless we’re talking the eating type.)The ‘new’ Miss Bush will be my curated collection of the best bridal wear available, the most innovative accessories; an edit of coolest ‘must-have’ wedding & lifestyle products.

The space is flexible & will be opening up for many different events, keep an eye on your inbox for invites. The launch events for both clients and the trade will showcase the work of photographers like Carey Sheffield & Naomi Kenton, filmmalkers like JHWF, the floral installation work of Bloomingayles & the sheer ‘wow’ factor of caterers like Kalm Kitchen.

Invitations have been sent to our media & trade partners and our brides of 2014. The trade & press night is the 13th May from 6pm to 9pm. I am hoping for an Instagram frenzy. The hashtag is #goingtothechapel. The night for brides is the 14th.

Numbers are strictly limited but if you would like to be added to the list please email enquiries@missbushbridalwear.co.uk
