Having me organise an election would be about as subtle & pleasant as hiring Malcolm Tucker. With worse language and less understanding.

malcolm_2368239b Therefore I would assume that Laura Caudery would consider my advocacy a mixed blessing.

As I was casually gerrymandering my own vote for The Perfect Wedding Awards I came across the last category – The Reader Recognition Award. Technically I am a reader of Perfect Wedding so, whilst not a bride to be, I consider I am able to suggest Laura Caudery for this award.

Brides might not recognise what Laura has done for the wedding industry but in a short two years she has served as the biggest catalyst for change that I have met in the 25 years of Miss Bush. How this annoyingly organised, persistent, pro-networking, PR-ing, tenacious shopaholic with a commitment to perfection has come to occupy a position of respect and admiration for me personally & as a business owner is a wonder matched by the size & breadth of the Great Wall of China. Laura has utterly changed my mind about the way I look at every aspect of weddings, the customer service required for today’s demanding millennial couples, the adoption of all manner of social networking, the addition of the hardline principles of fashion PR & I envy her  courtesy & charm that comes from blessed genetics & a fabulous upbringing.

Prior to meeting Laura I couldn’t have told the difference between  Sugalily Tigerlily; OMG & RMW;  Couvert &  Cutture in fact I didn’t know my Aston from my Elbie. Laura has gathered the greatest wedding suppliers available to couples in the UK,  targeting them with an unmatched zeal. I consider myself privileged to be on the Laura Loves list – you can’t buy or bribe your way on to this list. Accepting that I may be an expert in my field ( not the same as being liked by all I may add) is something that I had not acknowledged before. I was blind to my net worth as a professional, the possibility of how much better Miss Bush could be for our customers if we embraced working with our equals in different disciplines & the creativity I could bring to collaborative projects.

I encourage you to vote for Laura Caudery not because of her bravery or fortitude. Not because of what she has endured. You vote for her because I think she could be one of the best wedding professionals in the UK.

For anyone who is getting married check the Parallel Venues ‘charter’ below. These are the questions you should be asking of your venue. This is why I love the posh little anarchist that is Laura. Luxury and value for money are not mutually exclusive. This is the philosophy I never realised I lived by until someone smarter made me see.

The Parallel Venue Difference

You will deal with the same team throughout your planning; from your first viewing through to your wedding day, you will be working with the same dedicated members of Parallel Venues staff. • Laura Loves, our version of a recommended supplier list, is available to all our clients and we will endeavour to make suggestions based on what we believe will best suit your style and budget. • We do not endorse or recommend suppliers that we have not worked with. • We do not take commissions from any of our suppliers, meaning that you will not be paying extra for any services, nor will there be any incentive for us to ‘sell’ to you. Suppliers are also not charged for being featured in Laura Loves. When speaking to other venues, make sure to ask if suppliers pay to be on their recommended supplier list, are charged commission and whether they’ve ever worked with them. • Other than our caterers, you are free to work with any supplier of your choice. • There are no ‘set packages’, each wedding is truly bespoke. • There is no ‘minimum spend’. • We do not charge corkage. • You can purchase from our wine supplier at trade prices, sale or return, with free delivery and a complimentary tasting so that you can match wines to your menu. • Our pricing is transparent and as concise as possible so that you can plan your day, your way, with a full understanding of the costs involved. • VAT is always included in any venue price we quote. • To help make payment as easy as possible you can pay by cheque, credit card or online transfer and to help manage your budget, you also have the option to pay the balance by monthly direct debit.
